The task was to calculate the balance of planned earthworks for a designed section of a regional road near the area of Września, located near Poznań. Initially, we input the design data of the route into CAD software, creating a 3D model of the target road. Next, we conducted photogrammetric flights using the Trimble UX5 system, which allowed us to obtain a dense point cloud that formed the Digital Terrain Model (DTM). After cleaning the point cloud and supplementing the data with GPS RTN measurements, the terrain model was generated. The next step involved calculating the volumes of earthworks between the previously prepared models. Additionally, we precisely calculated the volume of the pile of loose material located near the planned construction site.
